The domain is the set of all real numbers that allow a real outcome of the function

Since you can't divide by 0, in this case 2 - x can't be 0 (as the square root of 0 is 0. So x can't be 2 (as 2 - 2 = 0). Neither can x be greater than 2, as that would mean 2 - x is negative, and you can't take the square root of a negative number and have a real number as an answer

So x must be less than 2

The domain is (-∞, 2)

Note the use of the curved parethesis indicating strictly less than 2, rather than a square bracket ] which would indicate equal or less than 2.

As sqrts of negative numbers don´t exist and the denominator can´t be zero
the domaine is x<2
