Many thanks for all your replies to my earlier post

I am now even more confused. The boiler in question can be found here:

http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=product.detail&con_id=5052&detail_id=5793

and it was item 10 that i tinkered with.

was this correct to bring the pressure up or should i be looking at another tap to adjust.

One guy mentioned that there should be a tap like devise underneath the boiler that lets the water in, this needs to be opened to increase pressure.

I have a "garden tap like" tap about 0.5 metre under the boiler, is this the one.

Please excuse my ignorance as I am useless with plumbing but don;t want to make a big mistake.

Many thanks

Dan

Hi there.
Under the boiler at the bottom there is a tap with a nob that you can turn about 1 or 2 revolutions when you do this you will hear water entering the boiler, but before you turn the nob there should be a fitting shaped like a "T" that you have to insert in a hole adjacent to nob under the boiler. As you are filling the boiler check the pressure on the guage on the front of the panel. It should get to about 1bar. when you reach this, turn off the nob and remove the "T" from the hole. The "T" fitting should have been left by the installer. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Seems strange the Worcester guy didn't spend a bit more time on site and thaw out the condense pipe for you - it's not rocket science - a few shots of hot water from a kettle would have done the job with ease How can you can blame the installer for the adverse weather conditions ? The user instructions will say all about checking the condense pipe in cold weather.

Don't forget that when you do fill yyour boiler that you have to vent the air from all the radiators and keep the pressure at 1 or 1and a half bar.
