I've heard that the potency of Omega 3's diminishes after the flax is ground. How long can I expect it to last after it is ground?

Nothing happens to the ground flax seed if you keep it in a plastic jar in the freezer. We always keep ours there. It can start to spoil even at fridge temperature.

really i would always try to use fresh ground. I have heard they can go rancid like within 1 week once they are ground. maybe even quicker. they have little hand held grinders that you can store in the fridge and pull it out and twist the top and it grinds the flax seeds. flax seeds are so good for you but you need it as frsh as possible. i would grind them right before i sprinkle it on the food and eat it as soon as possible,
