The meaning of the word Gay that I take is happy.
Lord, knows being a homosexual ain't a happy situation to be in
.
Nevertheless, who can answer this better than someone who is in the lifestyle.

Now, take my meaning and then ask yourself:

ARE YOU GAY??

Simplest answer- yes

But to say that "being a homosexual ain't a happy situation to be in" is making a subjective judgment that a heterosexual can't really make. What makes being a homosexual difficult, is the attitudes and actions of society.

It used to be considered wrong to be left handed. Kids had their hand tied behind their back or their knuckles hit if they used their left hand. The ONLY thing that made being left handed difficult was the attitudes and actions of society. You can FORCE a left handed person to use their right hand, but that doesn't change the fact that their NATURAL desire is to use their left hand.

being homosexual isn't always an unhappy situation. it depends on how accepting you are of yourself, and how accepting your family and friends are. since I have accepted myself, as have my family, friends and even my co-workers...and I have a wonderful, loving partner, yes...I AM happy!
I don't consider myself to be "in the lifestyle." I often wonder why people say that....it makes it sound like something we chose. It's simply part of who I am.
while I prefer to be called by my first name, yes! I am gay! or more precisely, I'm a lesbian. Proud? well, I'm not ashamed of who I am.
