What component/part of an egg causes it to be acidic?

This has a lot to do with why are vagina's acidic? To prevent bacterial growth and give the chick a chance to grow up and hatch out. Without this defense mechanism, all of that dirty nasty crap from the hen houses and the hay and stuff would destroy the albumen inside the egg (since its porous and can admit foreign matter inside while venting gases out.)
