Actually there hasn't been much disproven. Science has proven a lot of events in the Bible have taken place, meaning in fact the validity of the Bible has been proven through scientific work. See, science and religion fit together so nice!
Just because the timeline set down by physical science does not match the timeline set down by the Bible, which is not about science, doesn't mean everything or anything is incorrect.
For example, archaeologists use the Bible to find sites for their digs, recovering many ancient cities.
Here is something interesting from study:
Many, many cultures throughout the world, including some Native American tribes, have tales of an ancient flood that destroyed the whole world save a select few people

We could argue for years on the veracity of the bible. Personally I think it's a load of doodoo. The bible is just a book. Some of it may be fact and some of it may be considered as one hell of a fiction story. However, a lot of people believe in it as a factual rendering of the life and times of all those dead dudes. People have the right to believe what they want. I respect that. I only wish they would respect my beliefs. How many times did someone tell me or mine that I would go to hell if I didn't read the bible? Christians and others would do well to act what they preach and let it be. Well, anyway. Have a good day and Cheers!

If you have studied textual criticism then you would realize that there is overwhelming evidence verifying that the bible they read in the first century is the same bible we read today. It is accurate when it comments on man, science, life, and eternity. If you have read something you think is inaccurate it is probably some "mans" interpretation of what he thinks the bible says.
I personally believe the bible is accurate and truth however I do not think that the world is only 6000 years old. I would be hard pressed to find that in the bible. You can make the bible say anything, (Judas went and hanged himself... go and do likewise)however the proper rules of interpretation must apply if you want to establish sound doctrine.
Modern science and study has continually reinforced the accuracy of the Scriptures. The only ones who say differently look at what they see and twist it to fit their belief system. Just like all of us we see life through tinted glass.
Science is the observation of natural phenomonem over and over again expecting the same results. Evolution is theory because no one has ever observed it happening. It is a religion (belief system) for the secular humanist who chooses to deny the existence of God.

I am not out to have an argument either scientific or religious, and I don't want any emotionally charged debate and name callings. Just seem to me that people on both sides (but mostly - it seems - from the people who DON'T believe in the bible) make passing comments and generalised claims like you did above.
So..... then..... can you give us at least 6 examples of these "what has been DISPROVEN through modern science and study" ?
Thanks for the two points.

Deep question..all books whether fact or fiction are somewhere along the lines based on some truth..where does the actual concept come from in the first place? Nothing is made up from it's original source..humans are learning machines and the imagination is influenced by some sort of fact

Because their parents believed it and it is a connection to the past.
Because it is a comfort to people in crisis. After the loss of a loved one, or facing a terrible injury or disease-many people would rather live in a mystical religious world.
That's why cults can recruit the way they do. They pounce on people in their moment of crisis. They offer a an easier fix than harsh scientific reality. People don't gravitate towards what's been proven by science and study when they are grieving.
That's the biggest problem I have with religions. The abuse of people who are in crisis. It's just more pronounced in cults.
In Science's favor, you never read about an evolutionary biologist scamming his flock out of millions.
You never read about a geology professor making his students drink poison Kool-Aid or a scientist for JPL making people eat poisoned apple sauce to await the Hale-Bopp comet.

As time passes it sure looks that way. Gone is the 5000 year old earth, and ............... many other thing specific in the bible.
Now just last week we see in captivity in a zoo a reptile egg fertilized by the mother herself, no male involved .
Shoots Noah's one male and one female out the window.
What's next???
Catholics already accept Evolution. Pope says yes on that one.
Beginning to look like an old tale from past with little facts in it.
Sure, the churches demand and NEED it to be the "Gospel" truth to survive so they threaten the masses with HELL if they dont accept the old story. Hell is what they create for the parishoners with their preaching. Un-needed GUILT is placed upon the non believer. That creates stress which leads to disease and shorter lives.
GOOD BYE

I think it's all of those people who are still disappointed that there's no tooth fairy, Santa Claus or Easter Bunny...
Let's face it, if there was a God wouldn't everyone believe in the same God? For that matter wouldn't there be one version of the Bible and not all sorts of different versions??
There is not one tangible shred of evidence that God exists. I think people use religion as a way to scare people into abiding by a code of morality and it also serves as a way to help people accept the concept of dying. If you believe there is a Heaven then death seems less frightening rather than the reality that there is nothing afterwards...

Thats a question of faith, if some wanna believe that , it is kewl, Jesus was and is a pretty good figure that one could strive to be like. I could dang sure think of worse. No faith bothers me, I do not allow peoples opinions to upset me. I like the Free Will thing also, that is perhaps greatest gift a God ever gave to any religion.

I can't tell you why other people think what they think, but the Bible is a helluva good read. Full of deceit, murder, adultery, etc. It would put any modern-day novel to shame.
