Perhaps you mean the importance of GEOGRAPHY. Geography is very important for the economic well-being of a country. The ability to trade with other counries is enhanced, if a country has a large coastline, has major rivers, shares a common border, or is located close to other major countries.

In contrast, if a country is landlock, has no ports, no major rivers, etc. -- it's ability to trade with other countries is severely reduced.

Geology is the study of the earth. Since many of the goods that individuals desire are derived from things from the earth, such as diamonds, precious metals, and other resources, geology is important to economics. Geology allows economists to understand how scarce some of these resources are. Scarcity in turn helps determine what prices will be by way of supply and demand. The more demand there is for these scarce resources, the more money will be used to fund geology in order to find how these resources form and where they are located.
