i have bought a power supply with a 24 pin connector to my motherboard but i need a 20 pin connector for my motherboard is their anything i can do about this thank you

Nope, There might be adapter, if there is I haven't see them before try Ebay. But you need a 20 pin or they make 20+4 Pin power supplies to support both..

Look closely at the 24 pin connector. Some have the option of separating the extra 4 pins to use a 20 pin connection.

You need to take the power supply back and buy the correct one.
