Self-preservation is the first law. Therefore, if the civilized don't act brutally towards the uncivilized, their civilization will cease to exist. In other words, the rules don't apply if you're not in the club. The idea of "sinking to the other side's level" is illogical and fatal to civilization. Civilization is a peace treaty among civilized people; the rest must be dealt with in whatever way is most effective. Cowardice, promoted by decadence, is actually self-hatred and leads to suicide of a civilization.

Dogooders contradict themselves; there is no such thing as doing good for bad people, who are only made stronger by it.
For example, drug addicts should be left to die. Whenever they go to rehab, they just recuperate from the destructive effects of their addiction and are released strong enough to continue it and wreck society.
