Purely for academic reasons, B Tech is better than B.Sc. Applied Science, since you are an Engineer after the completion of B Tech, while you are just a graduate with the latter.

B.Tech. Lots of reasons:

1. B.Tech has better curriculum. It includes other subjects also (other than IT) which are necessary for an engineer to know. After all even after doing doing BSC, you will work as a Software "Engineer".

2. B.Tech has industrial trainings right from 1st year of engineer (unline in B.E, the training starts from 2nd or 3rd year).

3. B.Tech will make your education of 16 years (12 +4) where as B. Sc will make it just 15 years. B.Tech will make you eligible for M.S. course in universities abroad which demand 16 years of education.

So go for B.Tech if you have an option..
