i think good for him, he's branching out and showing the wold that he can do more than just be a rather stupid teenage wizard. i think now is the time for him to start dong other stuff, 'cause otherwise he'll get branded in that role and he'll never be able to do anything else. i try and go see the play, actually.

I havn't actually seen it but I think Daniel Radcliffe is a little young to be getting his kit off, although I am sure all of the young female Harry Potter fans will enjoy it, although people seem to be much more accepting of this Im sure if this was the young actress playing Hermione there would be much more of a fuss from the people making the Harry Potter films - however if Daniel and his family are comfortable with it then I suppose thats all that matters

Those photos came as as real big shock for me. I never knew he looks so great. Hm... however, I don't know how am I going to watch OoTP later this year. Before this, I was so much convinced by the film because Dan had sort of... become Harry Potter. They were one. But now, Dan's role in Equus is just too different from Harry Potter as if Dan's not the Dan the fans knew before.
Anyway, I'm still feeling happy for him trying something new and more challenging. Maybe one day he'll become a great actor!

I've no real interest in the actor or in the play itself, but I think the fuss about it is people being daft.
As much as they would like him to be, he is NOT Harry Potter. He is an actor, one who is now entering his peak as an ADULT and is probably very concerned about being typecast as a spotty adolescent wizard.
Teen Heart throbs do this, and often it is the best thing for there acting career and prestige when they do so - Brad Pitt did Legends of the Fall and then Se7en, Leonardo DiCaprio did Titanic and then adult films like the Departed, The dude from Dawson's Creek did Rules of Attraction... the list is endless! But these are GOOD films!
End of the say, if a child is old enough to see a film with scary stuff like monsters and whatnot in it, they can put up with a picture of a grown adult wearing no t-shirt and looking buff.

I haven't seen any photos of the production, but I'm very familiar with the play, and the role of Alan Strang requires the actor who plays it to be naked in the scene that takes place in the stables. I applaud Radcliffe for undertaking the part; it's a brilliant play, and a role that will absolutely challenge him to the utmost as an actor.

I think it's a very good move. If he doesn't do something like that to 1) reveal he's a great actor (not sure what my own opinion is on his acting skills though) and 2) bring attention to the fact he's doing something else than Harry Potter, then he will be eternally typecast as the Boy Wizard.

I prefer to see "unknowns" playing parts such as this. I want to get lost in the play, and it is hard to do that when I am thinking "OMG Harry Potter is nekked!" But in this case, it is NOT about the play (what a shame) it is a star vehicle for Radcliffe--and I think it is an excellent choice for HIS career.

I think it's great. An actor should not have to be stereotyped by one role. It was nice to see a more 'adult' side to him in Extras so personally I think it will be really good for both his career and his public image. People will complain about anything that is not conventional, in my opinion actors who take on more non-conventional roles generally end up proving themselves to be much more adaptable and there more taking on board the whole ethos of acting.

It's a complicated role. I think "Harry" (Daniel) doesn't want to be typecast for the rest of his life, and Equus will certainly shatter most people's monocular expectations of him.

I think it's fine. I think it's ridicules , and sooo English that parents are going crazy at him for "stripping" of.
Good on him for moving beyond Harry Potter
