The Last King of Scotland was amazing, I haven't had the pleasure of watching Blood Diamond as of yet, I will be going to see that tomorrow but it has been getting some great reviews. I would suggest you do see The Last King of Scotland since it might go off soon and you might miss it.

I haven't seen the Last King of Scotland so can't really comment on that (although I've seen interviews with some of the actors and read reviews that say it's pretty good), but can recommend Blood Diamond as a really good movie.
It isn't usually my kind of thing so I started watching it with a fairly sceptical attitude but was pleasantly surprised. It's an intelligent story that keeps you interested all the way through; some parts are quite brutal (particularly with the child soldiers) but this adds to the realism.
Only downside is Leonardo's accent - most of the time it's OK but he does sound Australian at points!

The Last King of Scotland, if you love your history (And James McAvoy - God he is cute for a blue eyed boy - yum!) it was a harrowing movie and Forrest Whittaker was amazingly convincing as Amin. I haven't seen Blood Diamond although that has has good reviews. Mind you, I don't like Leo as an actor. Both good films and I don't think you will be disappointed.

I went to see The Last King of Scotland last night - an amazing film with stunning performances both from James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker.
Not a cheerful film - but very good.

The Last King of Scotland is a superb film - it's actually based on a novel - the Idi Amin character is historically accurate, though the Scottish Doctor is a fictional construct - loosely based on many of Amin's "White Monkeys". The book was actually a novel.

Anyway, it is a great film - highly recommended.
