popular doen't mean much once you get out of school.
Look at Bill Gates. He was a funny looking geek and now so rich and powerful he could buy a small to medium sized country.
Additional: beware of what you wish for. Sometimes popularity can be a bad thing.

Don't work so hard at it. Always remember its really true what they say " When you are not looking for it, thats usually when it comes". Plus every, or alot like the ones who play a little hard to get. You have your whole lifetime, I promise your day will come!
