Perhaps ur computer does not suport too much of memory, and so when u insert ur high capapcity pen drive to it it hangs,
The system is to be reconfigured, just take it to a local computer vendor for the needful.

There could be a few things that would cause this problem. 1.) USB drivers are corrupted (try a different USB device on your computer to see if it has the same problem, if it does then re-install USB drivers from manufacturers website). 2.) If your computer is CUSTOME BUILT and not NAME BRAND the USB wires attaching to the mainboard could be reversed causing data clash or reversed polarity (contact vendor or get a techie friend to look at it). 3.) In rare occasions- If your computer has multiple drived and a high-grade video card and devices that suck alot of power from your power supply- the 5-volt draw to power your Flash Drive could be just enough draw to to make it take a poop. 4.) Use and air can to blow out the dust on the port :)

I hope this helps, let me know :)

1: It is not "Boot Problem", your Pc has already booted to the desktop and is not confusing your Hard Drive with your Pen Drive.

It sound like it might be trying to boot from this device. You can go into your boot sequence in the bios and change the order.
