I haven't been to goodwill in a long long time... I heard that you can buy clothes by the pound. is that true? Is it a specail thing or and everyday thing?

Does Salvation army do that too??

I'm looking for ways to save / make money and if that's true it could really really help. I'm not looking forward to the first of the month :0( any help would be appricated.

I have never seen that at goodwill. Normally, they set a price for clothes (example shirts 1.49; jeans 5.49, skirts 5.49 etc....)

Goodwill does not charge sales tax since the purchases have already been taxed. Additionally, they usually have one day a week where they offer additional specials.

In might be that some locality's do offer specials on clothes; however, the mission of goodwill is to provide affordable clothes to people.

Keep in mind, most donations to goodwill are garage sale rejects. I am one of these people who donate clothes after 4 wears (OK I am a women and like to shop and work requires a massive wardrobe) so some of the stuff you will find will be good quality.

Goodwill can save you some money and I do know some people use Goodwill for eBay. Good luck to you.

I think what yo are referring to is that they used to take clothes that did not sell bleach them and tear them up to make rags. These rags they would sell by the pound. Goodwill can be a great place to get clothes cheap just check out the labels and get the well known designers.
