You can still be a Christian and be gay. Do some reading. It really is possible. God loves you for who you are.

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor SODOMITES, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Co 6:9-10)
"AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Co 6:11)

Notice that gods' grace does fall on some of those that have constructed homosexuality. Once you understand it was constructeed, it is easier to understand you can unconstruct it.
If you have constructed the apperances with a sexual nature, then work on that area. Just because you see someone you find attractive you do not have to fantasize something that is sexual. You can stop that.
Sorta like your garnd parents end up in seperate bedrooms after they have been married for a long time. they let the sexual nature go, or some of them.
You may still feel the buterflies, but so what, can not just simple companionship cause the butterflies? You still can hug a man, even kiss a man, just do not lust after a man, or woman for that sake.
Yes work on this area first, then you can say I may have homosexual feelings, attracted to the same sex, but i do not act out homosexuality and have no desire to. then you could begin to construct hetrosexuality at that point if you want.
understand homosexualality is constructed, just like hetrosexuality is constructed.

You can choose not to act on your urges, just like anyone can. But you they will never go away. Most of the places that say they "fix" gay people even admit that. What you want to do with that information is up to you, but it does bring to mind some serious theological questions about the way we're wired.

You can't. Been there, tried that. It seeps through no matter what. Dreams, passers-by, whatever. Therapy did no good. There's a "rainbow camp" that supposedly treats you but I wouldn't put any stock in it. I know your struggle. The only thing you can do if you want to "not be gay" is to not act on it. That's your choice - albeit a hard one. You can email me for more if you want. I still struggle.
Come to terms with this part of you. Keep in mind, it's not the whole of who you are. It's just one part of you.

Oh, and welcome to Yahoo! Answers. :~)

You can't. You can choose to live a celibate life, where you don't act on your urges, but you cannot change who you are.

What a waste that God would give you the facility to love someone and then deny you the right to exercise it on pain of eternal damnation.

Are you sure God decided that? Or was it his Church?

Maybe, you are just confused, it is normal to have tendencies toward same sex in some period of life, but it does not make you gay. Just wait don't get too nervous, try to be happy, don't press yourself and time will show you the truth.

I would rather be gay then be religious!!!

You are what you are, unfortunately, its the religious people who DONT and WONT accept that!!! But that's not to say that you are not just going through a phase and some confusion - why don't you experiment, see what feels right to you - like they say "You never know till you've tried it"

Besides, I don't trust anyone who can love a fictional character MORE then their own flesh and blood!!!

Gayness isnt something you turn on and off.
Its stuck with you for life, you can choose to accept it or deny who you are. You know there are gay friendly churches out there!
