Brain bench is giving out certification free of cost till jan 31st. I've taken up ASP.NET and completed it successfully.

They say that its valid for three yrs from now. Is it really valid? Is this just a dummy certification? Can it be kept in my resume? What benefits do I have from this certification?

I don't think it is trust worty or it will have any positive effect if you keep it in your resume. Although it may have taught you asp.net but at professionally I don't think it has any significance.

Of course you can attach the certificate information to your resume that will your plus point that you have done something extra weather the certification authority is private or government. If your certification authority says that this certification is valid for three month and it is written in the certificate then no problem it seems true. So don't worry and keep in your resume. I am sure that the interviewer will impress with you as per the rule "Something is better than nothing".

A "free certification" being "given out" doesn't exactly sound legitimate... I'm sure you could put it in your resume if you like, but I doubt many potential employers will be all that impressed by it...

Why not, If any organisation grants u a certificate it is worth.
