Contrived beyond belief. The basic situation is unreal, in the sense that such a set-up couldn't happen in real life; the choice of contestants is carefully manipulated so as to cause friction and changing alliances; and behind the scenes there's a whole group of people thinking up the various tasks and challenges that are likely to exacerbate said frictions. Also the programmes are edited, so you get to see only what they want you to see - even when there's supposedly 'live' streaming.

Don't know whether it happened at the time (I couldn't bear to watch) but I looked for the video clips of some of the quarrels when they became newsworthy and noticed that from time to time the sound disappeared and was replaced by a combination of helicopter noise and bird-song ... similar each time, and very reminiscent of The Truman Show.

Indians are coppied by others shows
India's reality shows are not realy real
but big brother is a reality show bcoz they made by themselves

I believe that "reality shows" are staged, at least to a degree.
