Hi, i havent had my periods for the last four months now. I have been to see the doctor and and have compeleted a blood test but still has come back negative. Two years ago i was on the depo which i did noticed i had gained wait on. People say that it takes up to a year to go and its been way over that now, but my periods have never been the same. The thing my doctor said was to not to worry about my periods because they will eventually come. I aslo have a 3 year boy who is perfectly fine.
Does/Can anyone shed some light for us please.

Oh my god...one year my butt...The package on the depo says that you are suppose to return to "normal" and be able to even conceive after 10-18 months without use. That is simply not true for all women. I was on the depo for over 6 years. As a matter of fact I was the longest patient at my clinic to use it. I gained over 100 pounds in 6 years and it took me 3 years...yes three years to conceive after stopping my once every three month dose of the drug. For the first year I bled almost none stop. The second year my period was MIA. Then it came whenever it wanted to...Nothing regular about it. Even now, my baby is 13 months and my periods are still not back to "normal". Unfortunately, everyone is different and the time it can take varies. I wouldn't worry about it because there is nothing you can do about it. I bought 25 pregnancy tests from the dollar tree (dollar store) and yes they work. So to make sure I wasn't pregnant any month I was late, I simply tested, that way I could get prenatal assistance right away. Good luck!

I was on depo a few years ago. I gained a lot of weight on that darn thing. But when I went off of it, I had a non stop period for months. It took a long time for my period to get back to normal, but I believe that didn't happen until I was temporarily put on the pill to regulate things. If you're concerned and your doctor isn't telling you what you want to hear, maybe you should get a second opinion.

It can sometimes take up to a year for periods to go back to normal after coming off the pill, depo injection or contraceptive implant so i owuld give it a while (as long as you feel fit and well) and if things arent back to normal I would see the doctor again.

Not everybody is the same. I use the depo jab and never had any problems when I have come off to have a child. You can go on the Pill and that can regulate your period. Speak to your doctor about it.

Assuming the Depo was some form of Psychiatric medication, then it can take a while, but two years seems a long time?! I wouldn't worry too much, but I'd recommend you seek a second opinion. Good luck xxx

Talk with a good lawyer. They will know a Dr to get a second opinion from. Sounds like something is not right.
