Iam a beginner and just recently started learning it. I would like to know what brand should I go for? I stay in hyderabad in India. Should I go for a high-end one now or just go for a value-for-money brand and then think of getting a better & expensive brand in the future? If so, what brands come under a budget of 3000-4000Rs ? Please suggest.

dude neat question this one..i hav noticed that most music instrument outlets in india sell local manufacturer makes like Givson n the like, but to say from experience i would suggest u try out the guitar first before u decide to buy it. if u don like the tone u hear u won't get much feel to what u play. it is psychology.the brand u could afford with a 4k mark would b a Yamaha, try their FG series, it is a fav among starters.the wood is good n the sound is crisp.it is a good buy.but before u buy ur guitar i strongly suggest u sit in the shop n belt out all u know to play n see if u hav that tappin feet n ask ur self if that guitar makes u want to play more.. thats when u know u've found the guitar u want..n please do check the finish of the guitar too, the fret board, it's smoothness, the tuning keys, the bridge, the alignment n ofcourse the spacing of the frets..indian makes hav a faulty spacing i hav noticed in a lot of makes..another good brand i could suggest would b RONNIE guitar, i remember one for 8k but that was acoustic/electric, the acoustic would b way lower than that..best of luck buddy

Depends on the materials of the guitar. Some are made with expensive wood and other materials which also enhance the sound quality. If I were you, save the frustration of buying a cheaper guitar if you plan on playing it for a while. Seagull makes a great guitar with good materials. Make sure to ask about the wood and also check out the action (how close the strings are to the fretboard).

Don't get messed up with brands...the most important thing is to feel comfortable with your instrument...so go in a store and try all kind of acoustic guitars...I'm sure you will find what you're looking for...price of course is a factor but if you really want to do a good start don't think about it!!!

I don't think brands are important....simply find one that you like and can afford. I would go for a cheaper one to start with. Make sure the strings are close to the neck....this is called 'low action'.

since you live in India, there are not many good options available to you. However, Hobner which is made in calcutta is the best buy. Another good make is Gibson (note the "B")
