I was dating a woman who didn't appreciate my sense of humor or my redneck roots. On our first date, I took her to the Monster Jam Truck Rally. I had a blast! She didn't seem to like it as much as me. I decided I would be romantic and take her to a muddin' contest. She didn't like that either. What's a redneck to do?

What is a 'muddin' contest'? I've lived in the U.S. over half of my life now and I've never heard of such a thing. Is that a U.S. thing?

Wait a minute Red is this the dating game? ha ha You better watch it Bubba you are advertising ha ha you may get a lot of takers now, like Morg she is curious about muddin? My suggestion go with the guys to the Monster Jams and the muddin you can always find a date there and more fun than listen to them pms about the fact they don't like it? ha ha . I go to the Casino alone and to the race track and the rodeos in Vegas especially there, Most of the time you meet new people with the same interests then go with them next time around but for then you are already there with them and sharing a good time without disturbing your fun with a tag along. Next time if you may want to invite them or visa versa pal.

I must say I have never even been to a Monster Jam Truck Rally nor really know what one is. I do know that a first date should be in an environment where both parties are comfortable and have a sense of neutrality (either by location, destination, subject) to it.

For a first date you should have taken her out for dinner at a nice restaurant (not McDonald's etc). On neutral ground where your both are relaxed and comfortable, while there find out what type of sporting/hobbies activities she is into.
It would have been nice to ask her if she would like to go truck rally, not just take her and hope for the best. It would have been like her taking you to a Tupperware party. I am not saying that a truck rally would not have been fun, but give her fair warning.
I am a sporty type person so my first date with my hubby, was to a motor-cross for bikes, cool fun. Mind you I was meant to go with a girlfriend she decided not to go, so hubby asked if I'd like to go with him. He knew that I was into motor bikes, so helped him in asking me.
