You can get Stain Devils to get blood off things, although you should be careful not to get a mattress too wet. You could also try a cold, (don't use warm or hot water as it willl 'set' the stain') slightly damp cloth, dabbing at the blood stain, but it might take a long time. Work from the outside to the inside, to avoid spreading the blood.
Brilliant name by the way!

well white wine poured on top of red wine lifts out the stain so it might lift out the blood , pour just a little white wine onto the blood stain then with a kitchen towel tab , then use some of your own shampoo to freshen up the mattress, dry well with your hair dryer only if the stain has lifted , otherwise the the stain will never come out if you add to much heat

The best method I have used is use cheap bar soap, get bar soap wet, rub on stain, then use a damp wash cloth and rub until stain removed. Then blot with clear water, place fan on mattress to air dry.
Bar soap works good for grass stains as well, not that you would have them on your mattress.

Go to Denver Mattress. They sell a lot of mattress cleaner. Some of which are especially for blood!

Try a dry foam upholstery cleaner - you don't want to get damp into the mattress. I managed to get dried blood out of our living-room carpet with this when my dad had a bit of an accident. You may need to re-apply it a few times to get the stain out completely. Good luck !
