All behavior originates as thought processes in the brain. Think of the brain as a kind of organic computer. We are all born with a computer, but like our face, physical structure, our heart and other internal organs, with slight differences based on heredity. So your brain has the same purpose and function, but it is somewhat unique in its capability. This brain you inherited through your parents' genes. So it has an influence on what you can do with it. Beyond that, through learning you load tons of data throughout your life, as well as powerful mental programs that process the data. So learning is a major influence on your behavior.

Hormones are secreted by glands, which are controlled by the hypothalamus, a part of the brain. This is how the brain controls and maintains body functions, including the visceral and other physical responses we know as emotion. Emotion, of course, is a major component in human behavior, along with several other thought processes, such as memory, intuition, judgment, imagination, etc. Heredity, of course, plays a part in setting up the structures involved in hormone secretion. Heredity plays a major role in how well your body performs these functions, which influence behavior.

Nature as against nurture debate. Nature skill our personalities are fastened from the 2nd we are born (hereditary) - look up Freud's psychodynamic theory, Erikson's degree theory or Bowlby's attachment theory. Nurture skill that our behaviour is learnt - look up Bandura's social getting to grasp theory. the character/nurture debate centres in this query – ‘is our skill to benefit desperate with the help of our inherited genes and characteristics? (i.e. NATURE) – or – is our skill to benefit desperate with the help of our upbringing? (i.e. NURTURE)
