because I think there needs to be one. The end-game of capitalism= mcds as restaurant choice. The end game of not fighting for the environment is extinction of species and habitats and obviously the quality of life for all. I am getting the impression from answers so far of people a bit conditioned by capitalism. It has a huge connection with the environment. It was born in the industrial revolution where people can from the lands to build cities and factories. Corporations (largely US) are infiltrating every country in the world and raping and pillaging- who do you think are 'mining' the rainforests in SA. The whole EU community thing is engineered by corporations, one currency workers within the union can work anywhere in Europe they have even made the railway gauges standard so that corporations have no obstacles to 'globalisation'= corporations having global presences

In response to the idea in the answers (which I appreciate of course) that corporations are doing things for the environment. Seriously they have fleeced you. I am involved in corporate law I have an idea of what goes on. These banks that donate money to save the whales or whatever, its just public relations to make you think they aren't so bad. They are all a big part of the reason for the environmental devastation and they will keep going so long as the dollar prevails over integrity and doing the right thing. Governments the world over kowtow to the dollar its almost universal. Don't be fooled, these are clever people that are after that dollar, they are like the pac man trying to eat one coin at a time and they are deviously working at how to do it at any cost, to lives (ie war) to environment. To anything. Greed is THE destructive force in the world today
