i had a baby 4 months ago and on and off i have being feeling a deep aching pain in my right breast. it comes in waves and when its bad i can hardly lift my arm and it hurts up into my neck. its a sickening pain, has anyone else had this?and what was it? i went to my doctor and he didnt really make anything of it, just told me to take painkillers?! im 21 and not breastfeeding my baby

r u still producing the milk...if u r it could be mastitis and yes it is very painfull...it is a blockage in your milke ducts...a biuld...and can feel like u have been hit with a baseball bat, try warm compress and massage, if this doesnt work go back to your doctor u may need to be on antibiotics....i had this 6 times in 5 months with my first and had stop breasfeading due to it...tell your doctor that u think it might be mastitis...godd luck

Sounds like an infection called mastitis. If you get a temperature or flu symptoms you need to see a doctor immediately as it can get nasty very quickly. If you don't have a temperature & are otherwise well just give it a couple of days & if it doesn't go away get another opinion. You may have popped or bruised a rib while pushing during birth (it hurts alot) but there is not much that can be done.
