I'm Not an expert but i think you can do that ,,Why don't you visit the some radio station and ask them how do they started cos most of them are friendly I'm sure you can get the best idea for them of i guys get close they might recommend you if they enjoy your voice..

Using your computer, make demos of yourself and send them out to radio stations and ad agencies. Short of being in the right place at the right time, it basically comes down to getting yourself discovered - and usually you have to do the leg work.
