great in the summer when its hot and certainly more hygenic than staff using cup of water from a tap.

It all depends on how many staff there are. Where I work there's only 2 of us and we wouldnt bother with a water cooler.

It can boost staff morale, as you are giving them something for nothing.

On the negative side, if they drink too much water, they will spend too much time going to the toilet, reducing productivity.

In Summertime, staff will really benefit, as water will prevent dehydration, and reduce the possibility of heat stress.

1) constant access to cool, tasty water, as opposed to warm/chemical-tasting water from tap
2) Employees drink more, which leads to better health & performance (dehydration can cause tiredness)
3) Employees feel they are better looked after
4) Looks professional to clients/visitors
