I would say this:

1. Dummy: A life size replica of a person or animal that is meant to be a decoy for the real thing.

2. Doll: A smaller likeness of a person or animal, often handheld, usually fabric.

3. Figurine: is a miniature likeness of a person or animal, smaller than a doll and usually made out of something hard.

dolls i know that are figures made by the likeness of small girls. they can be made from clothes(like cabbge patch babies). from plastic(like barbie) or from porceline(like porceline dolls).figurines are made from plaster or porceline completely. they are not for playing but is used as a decoration piece. dummies i dont know. mabye that is what they call my husband.
