I have set goals over the years( short/medium...even long term) but nothing worked for me. I could be able to achieve only materialstic objective not personal & psycological. ex: buy new computer, digital camera, etc... not able to do following Complete the theory exam to get degree, travel around the globe, writing a book etc.. I also seen people who did not mind much about goals achieving great success and even travelling around the world, earning good money etc... Is there is something wrong with me? what should i do?

i too share your burden. i should be graduating with a bachelor's this year but have yet to even attain an associates. i could just be plain lazy, but i truly lack motivation whatsoever. what i want to gain eventually just seems like such a far trek that i inadvertently give up because all that i do now seems like chicken feed compared to my ultimate goal. i know no one said it would be easy. i read in my bro-n-law's special ed. theory book that kids who tend to develop a lack of motivation have had a lack of parenting through their teens years. that about sums it up for me, my dad is a worthless scrub and i don't even know where he is, and my mom, bless her heart, was hardly home doing all she could to keep food on the table while finishing school.

i found that super short term goals work best for me. im not even worried about my associates, im getting along better concerning myself with the here and now. larger goals only seem to cloud my ambition. i also had to slow down my pace. i was killing myself working full time and going to school, i think that had a lot to do with it too. reguardless that other people think i may be wasting my talents by not going balls to the wall guts and glory, i am way more content working at my own pace on my own terms. baby steps my friend, concerning the here and now seems to be the only way i can get through the day.

You are misleading yourself in what you really want out of life.
You place others opinions of yourself higher than your own. Find out what you REALLY want. This will require honesty and time.
