Is it a gud ploy to promote Dhoni(if he s playing) at no.2 with R,Uthappa which gives more flexiblity to the team down the middle order??

It is a good strategy, always to have your most flamboyant
batsman as your opening batsman.
Earlier it was Tendulkar and Ganguly.
And it is a good idea to have stable batsmen who
can steady the team's innings in the middle order
SA have Kallis who is not a very fast scorer,but a steady
batsman,who is difficult to dismiss.
Even Australian middle order batsmen play steadily without
trying to hit too much till the 40th over.
India have Dravid,Ganguly and Tendulkar. in the middle to
steady the innings.,of course followed by Yuvraj and Karthik(if
4 bowlers) are taken.
So , promoting Dhoni as an opener with Karthik is a very good ploy.

Ganguly and Uthappa will be a better choice with left/right combination.Dhoni can come at 5 or 6 or earlier if the situation demands.He is more effective after 25 overs.
For opening both should not be bangers.One of them should be able to be steady first to switch to higher gears later.

Ganguly and Utthappa should open the innings in tomorrows match at Baroda.Utthappa is a good and upcoming player. He should be given a chance. Dhoni should remain at no 5 or no. 6 because that gives strength to the middle order. Robin Utthappa wont be able to give as much strength as dhoni.

i think dhoni is good finisher, he provides flexibility in middle order,so he should remain there only .as he can play some big shots in the last 10 overs.I think saurav ganguly and robin uthappa should open tomorrow.Dhoni can come at no.3 position in case some quick runs are required.

NO. Dhoni should be in middle order. Sachin and Ganguly should open . Because u given chance to all. Give a chance to master blaster and bengal tiger. Their combination and consistence is good in the past. THeir opeing is broken because of ganguly was not in form. NOw he is in form. Then sachin is in good nick. Don't confuse the things by putting a lot of plyers in opening

As we all know about the unconsistant performance of Indian team ,if any opens 2morrow tat doesnt matter,but according 2 me its better 2 play uthappa and irfan

ooh.. thats a wee bit dangerous... it wud be better to reserve one of dem to increase the run rate later... i think dada and robin uthappa shud open the batting
