Like a door mat or a towel once used to often it gets worn out. holes appear stains start to show. A stain that used to come out now stays in the towel, just like your qualities used to bounce back. They have now got to be old and used up. People now know what to expect from you. Just think of it as that old mismatched sock in the sock drawer with a hole that you just threw away.
Peace

It can mean many things like staying at someone's house too long, coming to their house all the time, or it can mean they came to bum off of someone. Like my husband's brother in law. He has worn his welcome out, but that doesn't stop him from coming. He came one day last week and borrowed money. He told us when he got his income tax check, he would pay us back. He got it, but we haven't seen our money yet. I told my husband, we wouldn't see him anymore until he had the income tax spent, then he would be back bumming again.
