I work in a place where there are almost 2000 employees and I wish we had water coolers. The water that comes out of the tap taste of the chemicals they put in it. If you can afford it it would be a nice touch to your business and perhaps you can use it as a tax write off.

Just put a budget and see.
Option 1:Buying on your own
Find out the Price for what you what. Now say smooth functioning period is 3years.So you have to through it after that. You investment finished.
Option 2: Renting out
Find the cost for three years for the same capacity as above.
Consider the maintenance by the owner

Now you will realise which option is good.

I, personally, hate them. The water is so cold that I can't drink it. When I go to a company and they offer me a drink, I always look around. If there's a water cooler then I won't ask for water. Anyway, it's not good for your body to drink cold water all day. Water should be at room temperature.

Get a water cooler, it encourages people to drink water, and in the long run it will help your business because it will keep them healthy.

If you are into giving to charities, I had one call up the other day, water aid, it is run by christian aid, and will charge the same as normal water cooler firms, also they provide cups!

Its a good idea, where i work we have a large drinks machine that not only vends hot drinks but also gives out free hot, cold, still and sparkling water. Im sure your staff will appreciate this in the summer time.

if you know you will get use out of it then go for it. Water is so good for you so i always encourage it! Plus its nice if you have clients over.. make sure you pick a good water supplier though as someone i know got poisoning from their water cooler at work because the company they got it from werent storing it properly, they put it in sunlight and bacteria grow!

If it for you then yes, your the company director your brain needs the wet stuff to keep you alert and hawk eyed to prevent theft from you. Also great for when you get your secetary in the office late at night, firsty stuff nookie.

If the business can afford it, yes, if not, just get a filter head on the sink, a water fountain is another consideration, and after the initial cost of instillation, it's maint. cost is nothing.

i think its a good idea..promotes healthy living instead of drinking tea and coffee all the time!

We had one at my last work place and i think it cost about £520.00 a year. Which is only £10 a week.
