Whenever I have an assigment or task to do which need thinking, I can hardly think. Or if I can think of something, it's odd and sometimes out of point. Sometimes even when I 'm siting for a test or exam, I feel my mind is blank or even mental block. Or when I'm racing against the time, I feel even worse.

Please help me!

Anxious!

Oh dear !
Its nice to find in you the deep desire to achieve ! No matter you may not feel anything successful in you, but your innocense and true heart will surely make you acheive

The first step to progress is realisation - which you have achieved, that is ... you found what is wrongly about you.

Now the second step about it is to go inside a bit more to find out the root cause of your 'lack of confidence' or 'lack of concentration'. You should be surely stuck in some waste activities and you must be wasting your time all along, so that at the time of exam you could not perform well.

Your repeated failures have clouded your mind about your abilities. For this adopt - pre planning - sincerity - self control

Try to start the things from an easy tasks / studies then you will slowly gain confidence and satisfaction. Then with that feelings step ahead for a little more complicated task / studies.

You will not achieve this in minutes or hours like a magic .... you need to work work and work on your own self .... stop not till you reach the goal.

be clear in fixing your goal (not just an emotional thinking) but be practical. Keep two types of goals one for life and one for daily or weekly basis.

do the little or big to achieve your goals, the more goals you achieve the more confidence you achieve ...

* make good friends (avoid negative friends and discussions)
* your ultimate help will be from the supreme god .... to come close to him
* take life seriously .... life is not for a casual time pass purpose
* remember every second counts

I have to agree with Mr. Yahoo! above. This is a problem you need to nip in the bud right now--your education is extremely important, and is not something to be taken for granted. The anonymity that comes with asking on yahoo is comforting and convenient, but your problem is not something that can, or should be diagnosed by underqualified people such as myself.

You really should seek some guidance on a professional level (I do not mean this in a funny or mocking way). As the previous poster said, your school counselor is an excellent choice. I'm not certain they have the authority to contact your parents over something of this nature, so you may want to check into that first.

If you have a family physician, I would highly recommend talking to him/her. You issues could stem from any number of things--it might be wise to eliminate any medical possibilities before you go the (expensive) route of psychiatric help. It's possible all you need is a simple prescription to focus your attention.

And when in doubt, your family should be the first group you talk to. This is not something to be ashamed of. They may be unaware of your troubles, and several heads are better than one when solving a problem.

***EDIT***
I have read Angel's post above. While his message is good--don't believe you need to put stock into those messages. From what I read, it does not sound like your study habits or outside activities are to blame for your cognitive issues. A good work regimen and life methodology are important, but some problems can simply NOT be solved through "self-help." Do yourself a huge favor and talk to someone who actually cares for your well being and/or someone who is fully qualified.

Angel... I must say that your religious comments do not entirely belong within this particular thread. His faith is NOT in question. Again, the message is good, but you're making a LOT of presumptions concerning the character of the author, some of which is non-productive.

I wish you the best of luck

It is probably rooted in the fact that you are doing something you aren't interested in, or don't like doing. I wouldn't be alarmed, but I would start looking closely at the choices you are making that put you in this frame of mind. Are there alternatives?

Not a Yahoo Answers thing, this. You really need to sit with your school counselor, or another counselor, if required and sort this out. Anything could be causing this - yourself, your reaction to your parents, to your schooling system, or just your attention span!
