Every time you get mad, think about what's going to happen.
Are you going to hurt someone?
Is everyone going to hate you.

Here are some things you can try...

1. Tell the person why you are angry.
2. Take a time out.
3. Tel the person you are angry and to drop the subject.

If you have money, there are anger management courses/therapy available. However, there are often groups that can help for little or no money. If that's not an option, one way to do it is to take a break. Count to 100, or just walk away and return to the conversation after a few minutes. You'll find yourself less heated and more clearheaded.

Funny you should ask this coz I was trying to get a good article for the red-snapper at home :) Hey, try this....

Relaxation

Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry feelings. There are books and courses that can teach you relaxation techniques, and once you learn the techniques, you can call upon them in any situation. If you are involved in a relationship where both partners are hot-tempered, it might be a good idea for both of you to learn these techniques.

Some simple steps you can try:

Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."

Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.

Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.

Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.
Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation.

Try to calm yourself when you feel like you want to explode and try to think of things that make you happy and relaxed. Leave the argument or prevent a argument by just keeping quiet. Also think of how getting all worked up, is bad for your health and it causes panic attacks, stress and heart problems. Try to think that getting angry is not worth it.Good luck
