Online store is called virtual mall. There are companies that offer the whole arena of goods & services to your disposal. They donot charge any money from you but make commission thru the manufacturer a % so you provide them the services and they pay you a percentage from it.It's a win win situation.
In fact I teach people and help them to set up for last 3 years.Drop me an email if you need more information on those lines.email;setuup4@yahoo.com

http://ewebsmith.com has some stores that you get for free. If you want to start you're own, you need to get hosting and a website for about $10 per month. A number of hosting companies have online store services that run you a little more per month. Maybe you could start with opne of the free ones until you learn more.

go to http://my.dubli.com/4769 they have a solution for you, you can list you items for free, no insertion fee needs to be paid, there is also a promotion running for online shops for 49 Euros a year at present including marketing and administration tools for your costumers. Your shop will have a worldwide exposure and with strong currencies in Europe you will have a lot of costumers willing to pay prices in Dollar. The website converts currencies in real time so potential buyers can easily compare prices. The FVF (Final Value Fee) is also lower than on other e-commerce solution platforms such as eBay or Yahoo.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

Best Regards,

First it is best to have a workable knowledge about html. You can start your website on a free provider first and wait to see how it goes.Like Tripod. they have free accounts. And then when you are getting too much traffic upgrade to a real pay account.
