I do admin n credit control so I'm sitting at my desk.. Nothing manual but I do have to catch a tube going to work n going home in the evenings - which drives me nuts abt 45mins each way - I have to slow down cuz of congestion of people and cuz of my huge belly... (I already look 8months pregnant I'm only 6)

I can relate to the height issue - I'm only 5 feet tall, and looked like a grape on a toothpick when I was expecting.

I think you need to be away from work; you will need your energy after the baby is born, and you are "spending" a lot of it right now when you don't have to be, and wearing yourself down. The fact that you're exhausted tells me a lot; the dizzy spells and sciatica don't sound great either. Leg cramps can be from lack of calcium (it's an electrolyte, so lack of it can cause muscle cells to "fire" when they shouldn't). I say go on leave now, rest up, treat yourself well, and be ready for when your baby makes his/her appearance :-)

Congratulations!

Maternity leave for health reasons is perfectly reasonable as soon as work becomes uncomfortable. Of course, depending on what kind of job your working you can stay right up until you deliver (if you're desk bound). If there's any strain involved, however, you should probably leave sooner. I decided to leave at 30 weeks, and it was actually because of the bathroom breaks! Once the baby drops, you might be spending more time going to and from the bathroom than working, at which point it really is a better idea to just go home.

Why do you say most of us are unemployed or unemployable? That is a bit of an assumption. I have contact with most of the people on this section, they all work. This is my first day off for 3 weeks. As I have said before, we no longer work 9 - 5 Monday to Friday.

I would say, in maybe 2-3 weeks, if not now, but I guess just depends on your boss.
