I figure every good word has a bad side to it, and vice versa. For example, cocky could be bad (arrogant, high-n-mighty) or very good (confident, courageous). The trick is knowing when you're on the good side of your characteristic coin, or the bad side. Like they say, all good things in moderation...

I find that many of my good students that get cocky make mistakes.
It's okay to know that you are good, just don't tell others.
People hate a cocky person. If you want a relationship, you are going to find it hard to find someone because all they are thinking is that you are an A**hole.

I find that it is good to embrace the integrity of your own mind. To pride what you think only. But when you're being cocky, all you're trying to do is to 'fit in' and impress the group. or society. An ego helps you function in society, but in a way I think it is selfish sort of attitude.

its alright, just watch that you dont get too lippy or youll get your **** kicked in. Ive known plenty of people that thats happened too, talked too much ****, and got theyre face smashed up.
