I live in South Alabama so that maybe the problem, but vacations, magazines, ect. just seem to be geared more to gay men.

Understand that I am a lesbian and I feel that sometimes lesbians get left out.

Maybe it depends on what specifically you're talking about. I seemed to notice the opposite, because the patriarchy still tends to make gay male = icky where lesbians are at least "hot", so they're allowed as long as they don't want to be treated like people. I can't say as I've run into it, but I'm by no means saying you're wrong. I'll just say that whatever it does pertain to...I don't understand it.

You listed vacations and magazines...there's more lesbian couples with children than gay male couples currently. Maybe lesbians aren't as good a market to sell stuff to?

yes you are correct... even gay clubs owned by lesbians lean toward the gay men more then the lesbians.. I am also from southern alabama. may not be as far south as you, but I am about 3 hrs from the coast. if that gives you a general idea of where I am at.. lol.. I think one reason is because gay men tend to come out more then lesbians, which is why more things lead to gay men, however since more things lead to gay men makes us lesbians with not having much to do... but I do understand what you are talking about here... oh yea i am a lesbian to...lol

No, you're not wrong. We are a largely ignored percentage of the population. But that's understandable since we actually pose the least threat.

But, if you want resourses, magazines, user groups, health services, vacations...etc...that are actually geared to the lesbian community, please feel free to email/message me...I'll be happy to help!

How odd that the previous posters simply didn't seem to understand your question at all.

It's ok sister...I'm here to offer any info you may need!

IMHO, I think its because gay men are still men. So they do what men do, spend money on their partners, promiscous, etc. Just like, looking back some years, everything was geared towards the man, until they realized the buying power of the woman.

Well, as a gay man myself, I can state that I never made any sort of choice to be gay. My personal feelings - and from experiences of friends who have gone through the second situation you mention - is that anyone who "turns gay" after having a bad heterosexual relationship was not heterosexual to begin with, but at least bisexual.

Gay is the way in the South because of the Black situation. Who would ever have imagined this would come about. Queer Sotjer rednecks everywhere. The have written off the white girls because they ;prefer black men. So Brokeback Mooutain shows you what is happening all over the nation. White males have given up. They just have each other and an old mouldy culture and the ability to satisfy their needs without those beautiful southern women. they are going to the black men.

Sadly, but women are always left out even if they are lesbians. It is discrimination.

Lead by example. Start your own lesbian social group and stop complaining. I say that with respect.
