I am looking for a program that will allow us email communications through an office network system that is not connected to the internet, thus allowing office members to communicate among each other (hopefully with an in-box, sent-box) but not through the internet, just an intranet (internal) communication on windows xp and 98 machines run through a switch, hub, or router if necessary, thanks !

You have many solutions Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Send mail are the most popular. If you have a small office you can setup a mail server using third party softwares like iMail etc.

There are freeware mailservers also available you can try www.download.com to find some free mail servers.

Exchange is very easy to setup and configure. A 100 page screenshots document would give you the entire process to setup Active Directory and them setup Exchange using that active directory.

If you need any further clarifications please get back to me.
