Excellent point Bravo. It is ridiculous especially in America? Like no one can tell that the black person is black? And why do they need titles for everyone? This is getting out of hand? Jamaiican can be White and black , same with a Cuban? Cuban's can be black, hispanic and white as well. how about the Hawaiian what is he a hawaiian American? Come on? We obviously know the person is a native but from where? I think a Brit is a Brit, an American is an American mutt, or Euro, or whatever? But in my case I am a Native American and that is the only politically correct name with or without a hyphen. Cool huh? We got our own reservations eh? Big deal. If a black person has to tell where they are from besides the country they are born that is wrong and politically incorrect and you are right it is confusing because it is stereo typing and discriminating to all of us.

Hell NO! Afican American is not politically correct. What's wrong with calling black people BLACK?! That's what they are, they are black.

And white people are white! I am WHITE! I am not caucasian, and I DO NOT want to be called caucasian, I wanna be called WHITE.

I used to work with some people from Kenya Africa and they called themselves African American because they were actually African American(they had their work visas).. and they absolutely did not like the term African American for someone who was born and raised in America. They said (quote) "The black people that are born in America are Americans, not African Americans."

And as for Jamaican, NO they are not african american, they are Jamaican American.

And as for someone who comes from Europe, they would be European American.

Who knows? Maybe they would be just African in in another country or black or what ever they choose to be called. Really who cares? I call myself Italian-American and no one has ever bitched about that. But when it comes to African-Americans people get so testy. Leave them alone and get a life.

PS they can call themselves African American bcuz they know that their ancestors are from Africa. Just like I know mine are from Italy and a Mexican-Americans know that their ancestors are from Mexico. The average white American can't call themselves Irish-American or Polish American bcuz their ancestors have been here for too many generations and they are mixed with so many nationalitis you would have to call your self some thing crazy like Tiger Woods IriPoliSpanGermerican-LOL
Really, who cares? People always pick on Black ppl. Let them call themselves what everr they want.

In that case the term is incorrect unless for having at least some American and African lineage. As for being POLITICALLY correct, beauty is to the beholder. These days politically correct seems to mean calling a person, race, nationality etc. what ever they like to be called.
For best result look for something good in every heritage.
There is a difference between:
White and White Trash Redneck
Polish and Polak
Jewish and Kike
Black and ******
Spanish and ****
Italian and Whop etc. etc. etc. etc.
The ones on the left are races or nationality that we are born with.

The ones on the right are what shading of A-- Holes we choose to make of ourselves out of our own free will.

I agree it's a bit silly. Most African Americans have probably never seen Africa. I don't go around calling myself Spanish, Irish, Welsh Scottish!!

They say it is for now. But the black race has changed what they think they should be call so much over the years. Give them a few more years and they'll think of another name.
