chloroform is even less costly and easier to get for tiny animals, bullets are readily available for livestock, and shock sticks for poultry only need batteries and charging (to mention but a few) - yet with all the options, many ppl are selfish and ignorant about taking life humanely cos they are even cheaper. abuse is abuse.

Businessman are very time and cost conscious. Besides some faiths do not permit them.
