usually coins representing a certain country shows on one side the head shot of a great leader or king or queen of that particular country.for example in England you will find the Queens head on one side of the coin and the number representing eg 1 pound .... on the other side.since one side is the head bearing the head of a person the other side becomes the tail.thats the closest i can get to the answer and if this is not enough i am sorry i wasn't of much help.

as a results of fact on the front is somebody's head and it in basic terms is sensible then that his tailbone (this is the coccyx to you and me) could be on the back. think of what a worldwide it could be if the two components of a coin have been heads. of direction, as a replace of heads or tails i think it could have all started as heads or feet... yet, I digress.
