you know why you have this grades. the xbox is the problem, but you know that, don't be so scared about loosing the xbox next year an even better console will be on the market, but your future. hey... work hard on what is worth it, school. you screwed up this year but next time do it for your self not your father or for keeping up the video game console. accept the consequences cause you never know what you have now until you can see you lost it. work harder and mature.

You are stuck in a rut thinking about studying. When you say you studied hard, you may mean that you studied a whole lot at one time. That just doesn't help that much - studying every single day and reviewing and testing yourself is what makes for a good grade.
I'm sorry your dad will smack you. If it's not the first time you got smacked, you'll just have to take it - but somehow I think that smack comes and goes quickly but the loss of the xbox 360 is what will hurt longer!
You can talk to your teacher about how you want to learn how to study biology the right way so that the next test, you'll have a higher score. I think she will tell you what I just said about changing your study habits.
There's not much you can do. Best bet: ask your teacher for an appointment. Ask her to work with you on a plan for how to study biology. Write it all down. It should be like a schedule with reasonable goals.
Ask her to sign it to show that she approved the plan. Show the plan to your father before you even discuss your grade. Tell him you are promising to stick to this plan because you trust your teacher's advice. Then he'll know at least that you tried to get help and you are trying. Do the same for math. And then do the work!

If you just got the xbox yesterday, it isn't the cause of the problem. Taking it away would just be a punishment. If you honestly care about your grades, approach your dad honestly before the report card comes. Explain to him that you tried hard and thought you did well and ask him to help you work out a plan to try to improve. I would suggest starting by making in appointment with your teacher to go over the test and see where you went wrong and what suggestions the teacher has to help you do better. The teacher will appreciate your concern and interest in improving. Perhaps there is a different way to approach your studies, or maybe some after school sessions or tutoring would help. Most parents and teachers are looking for you to make an honest effort to do your best work. Perhaps you can suggest to your dad the the xbox could be taken away temporarily and if you follow your plan and improve you could earn it back. Good luck.

come clean before he sees the papers. Tell him you tried so hard and really thought that you did good but you did not. If and when he hits you again. remind him that hitting a child for any reason is against the law and that it would be a shame if your teacher found out what he has been doing to you. Also tell him that how he treats you now will affect the relation ship that you guys will have once you get married and have children. You would not want YOUR kids around a person known to hit kids

There's nothing much to do..I'm a sophomore (10th grader) in high school and I have 1 C in Chemistry and 1 D+ in Algebra II. The sad thing is that I studied hard for my math final exam but failed it. I guess I'm just not good at math naturally..

Stop worrying, at least u didnt get an F.
Your teacher probably had a bad hair day and give
all the students bad grades.
Dont show your dad, just show your Ma and let her sign it.
I think all kids grades dropped, must be the weather.
Just eat some brain foods like blueberries, apples,B12
and try harder.
Stop worrying now.

Look @ it this way. If you don't have any F's on your report card, you passed all your classes. The cool thing is a student with a D for a course gets the same amount of credit as students with an A for the same course.

Well, firstly be honest in telling your dad that you tried your best and you did study hard for the exams, but this is your limitation. if you got these marks that means this is the best you can do...your dad might appreciate your honesty and also tell him that you will keep trying to get better grades in the future...

just approach your dad, tell him before it is too late, tell him that you took a test and you don't feel so strongly about it! Then ask him if you can get a tutor or special help because "you want to go to college and you care about your future" ♥
