The easiest thing to do when giving a speech, that you can choose your own topic is to pick something that you are interested in and know a lot of the information. That way its almost as if your just having a conversation with the class rather that reading off cards. So maybe if you like make up, talk about how to match colors and the best way to apply. Or if you enjoy a holiday such as Valentines day, talk about popular gifts, how the holiday traditionally started. Just make sure you enjoy the topic...it will make it much easier to perform the speech...Good luck.

Your best bet is to make a bubble drawing. FIrst of all figure out what general subject you want to speak about and break that subject down, then chose which sub-subject you want and break it down once more. Pick from one of those.
For example, you choose English History:
a-royalty
b-wars
c-lifestyles
d-religion
Then next you choose Royalty:
a-leaders of the 1400's
b-poor leaders
c-leaders who made a signifigant difference
And you could even break those down once more.
The idea is to get to such a typical subject that you can inform your audience of the entire coverage on the topic in the set time frame.
Whatever you do
Never make list in a speech, you'll bore the crowd
Always make eye contact,
And always speak about something that you can emotionally attach to, if youare interested, you have a better chance your audience will stay interested, too
Good Luck

Your best chance at getting this done in the time you have left is to find something that you personally know a lot about. If it is baby sitting, use that, if housework use that, if driving a car use that.
Whatever it is, make an outline about this. Put several thoughts down and then subdivide the topics. Then make your speech from that. Here is an example.
Topic Bowling
1. What you need.
a. a ball
b. shoes
c. a scorecard
2. the rules
a. throw the ball
b. if all 10 pins down, STRIKE, place "X" in the scoring box. You get the sum up to now, 10 points for the strike, and the sum of your next two balls in this square.
c. if less than 10 pins down roll again.
d. if all 10 pins down on second ball, SPARE, place "/" in scoring box. you get the sum of up to now, 10 points for the spare, and the sum of your next one ball in this square.
You get the picture. Good luck.
e. if less than 10 pins down on second roll, OPEN, place "-" in scoring box. You

Informative - teach something, tell something. This is how you change a tire, fold jeans to keep them wrinkle free. You can give short biography on someones life. You can inform people why it is fun to watch the Superbowl even if you are not a football fan.
