That is what the bible says, but it can't be verified.There was no reputed doctor to certify lazarus dead, So we have our doubts, whether lazarus was really dead or in a coma. Both ways, it is still a miracle, because lazarus responded to jesus command and got well without any medication.

It was pretty blatent he did. He said Lazarus come forth and he wasnt dead anymore and got up and did his thing.

Yes, it seems He did ! (Nowadays, however, some think he may not have really been dead, but in a deep coma or just unconscious in a semi-state of suspended animation)

My thoughts ? Yes, before Jesus got there, he was 'toast'.
