depends what you are covering up - if you are using it on red marks than use a green concealer and if it's on dark under eyes ect use a yellow concealer - may seem strange but it does work.

Yellow: Used to conceal bluish bruises, under-eye circles

and mild red tones on the face
Lavender: Used to normalize yellow-colored imperfections

such as sallow complexions and yellow bruises. It can also help conceal very dark under-eye circles and dark spots on bronze skin tones
Mint Green: Used to neutralize red tones on the skin. Use this for covering blemishes, red blotches, rosacea, port-wine stains

depends what you are trying to conceal.
if you have red pigmentation you need to use a green concealor.
if you have black under eyes you need to use a yellow concealor.
if you just have a few spots that need to be covered then use a concealer that is slightly lighter than your natural skin colour.
-- and a little tip - try applying the concealor after you have put your foundation on and finish with a translucent powder.
for pimples use a small brush (similar to a lip brush) and apply in criss - crossing motions.
do not use a beige colour if you have red pigmentation - go for natural or golden colours

It should be a color that blends well with the foundation and powder you are using. Also, it needs to blend with your skin color. Sounds like you should look for a natural or beige shade.
