Lots of things in science were mostly made out of mans curiosity to discover the incomprehensible. The discovery of the atom and Einsteins relativity paved the way to atomic weapons. The germ theory in the 16th century evolved into bio-terrorism.

However, it can also go the other way. Radar used to detect underwater land mines helped in the development of the ultrasound machine, and most modern medical advances came from the science of building war machines.

There will always be a potential for abuse in science. It is in that potential comes the power to save or destroy. The only way is to change the hearts and minds of society, however, ultimately this is no easy task. Its up to the individual, scientist or not, to put humanity forward- an selfishness last.
