Seek the advice of your advisor right away. History is a difficult major in terms of post-graduate marketability, so if you want to shift gears, you need to do so ASAP. Your advisor should be able to help you sort through your completed coursework to determine what other majors you could pursue without adding too many more courses to your load. Think about not only where your skills lie, but also what you enjoy doing! Good luck.

I got my B.A. in history after realizing my Junior year of college that history is NOT where wanted to be (I think many history people come to that realization!) I now work as an Acct. Manager for a Public Relations firm. My point is, when I graduated, I found that it wouldn't have mattered what my degree was in, but rather that I had one. In my job, I just hired a young lady for a PR job with a degree in pysch, and I think most employers will look at the overall person, not the degree.
2 of my friends switched their major their Jr. and Sr. years; one dropped out the next semester, one just got his Ph.D in Bio. So among the 3 of us, we covered the spread of the options. My advice, and I don't know if it would work for you, is to stick it out and get the degee. Maybe pick up a minor? For sure, talk to your advisor, they won't be offended no matter what you say. Best of luck!

Well, without more details it is hard to advise you.
It sounds like you have finished at least 2 years, in which case you could still change your major.....or you could minor in something else and let it slowly take over your class schedule.
You can still get a general 4 year degree which would be good for most business.
But you need to decide what you want to do with your life before sinking any more money in courses you dont need.
Of course, with a 4 year degree you could become an officer in the military...

Talk to a guidance councilor or an adviser at your college, and ask them which classes you should take to do what you really want to do.
You can also choose a dual major, like history/politics or history/business, etc. That way, some of your credits will already fit into the second degree.

if you think history is not for you, explore other fields and you never know you might like one of them. you can then decide if you want to double major or minor in it. most people i know with history major also double majored in something else like philosophy while others in business or computer science, believe it or not. just something to think about.

As you are undecided on what to do, don't you think it would be best to continue with what you are doing and then change it when you do.

Maybe you can buy a dictionary and learn how to spell REALIZE,
and that will give you time to think..
