i was told that it was a liquid because it will after many many years will begin to sort of "drip"

Yes, it is a supercooled liquid according to some. It is thought that Glass in a pane slowly becomes thinner at the top, and thicker at the bottom. However there has been no real proof that this does actually occur.

Scientists generally treat Glass as an amorphous solid rather than a liquid, though different views can be justified since characterizing glass as either 'solid' or 'liquid' is not an entirely straightforward matter.

There is no clear answer to your question.

In terms of molecular dynamics and thermodynamics it is possible to justify various different views that it is a highly viscous liquid, an amorphous solid, or simply that glass is another state of matter which is neither liquid nor solid.

I think that myth was already busted. Glass is a supercooled liquid but glass does not flow unless melted. It is the way that old glass was made that it look like it had sagged.

Glass is viscous. After a number of years, it will start to gather at the bottom even in it's solid state. That's what happened to the stained glass at Notre Dame cathedral.

What you have been told was partially right. In fact, it is a transparent solid like ice and when melted becomes a water like liquid. If rays are concentrated on it, it will melt faster.

I read it was fluid in that imperfections in the glass with time and gravity would move lower in plate glass windows. I lived in a turn of the century house with a rippled or wavy surface on the front picture window.

Yes,it is true, some types of glass ,posses atributes of viscosity,a nessasary component of an existing liquid !

yes, glass is made by cooling down liquid sand ,hence glass is type of liquid

Its liquid when in hot (actually it melts ) and solid when cold

obviously not. glass is a solid material made from sand melted at high heat (at this point it is in molten state).
