They didn't explain all this to you when you saw the doctor? If a doctor doesn't explain what to expect when taking a medication, you need to ask, or at least ask the pharmacist....
Here's the information that i found about the "plan b" emergency contraceptive:
side effects: Nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, tiredness, dizziness, changes in vaginal bleeding, breast tenderness, diarrhea, or headache may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
The amount and timing of your period may be irregular after taking this medication. Notify your doctor immediately if your period is more than 7 days late. You may need to take a pregnancy test.
I got this information from webmd.com, here's the link if you want to check it out yourself:
http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-17838-Plan+B.aspx?drugid=17838&drugname=Plan%20B
If you took something other than the "plan b" it's likely the same, but look it up just in case by clicking on the drug search link at the top left and putting the name of the drug in.

if you read the instructions for plan B it can make your period irregular for awhile, since you been taking the pill for 3 weeks now, your fine it takes 2 to 1 week to be fully protected from getting pregnant on the pill you actually did not need to take Plan B, but if you were not on the active pill then Plan B was the right choice. Clots come in different colors Light red or Dark wine color but grey doesnt sound normal, But getting Diarrhea on your period cause by your cramps which triggers the urge to use the bath room, hopefully birth control can take care of that if not use an anti-inflammatory pill like midol. The pill can make you nausea for awhile eat some bread or crackers so your stomach does not get up set, you may experience this for a couple of more month. If you think your pregnant just take a pregnancy test to clear your mind, stress can deal your period. be sure to read the instruction before taking any kind of pill and make sure to take your pill at the same time each day.

No you should be ok - I have taken Levonelle a couple of times in the past and it caused my periods to go really funny for about two months after i took it. I ended up with a period for 2 weeks non stop, then hardly anything the next time. It did settle down though after the two months. If you're worried, do another pregnancy test just to make sure. Mine was very late the second time and thank god it showed negative when i did a test. I know it's hard but try not to worry. Do a test today though and put your mind at rest. You took the ECP well within the time though. x

Normal.

To the morons suggesting this represents a "miscarriage," please review some basic reproductive physiology before spreading misinformation. It takes ~24 hours for fertilization to complete. After that, it is 5-6 days before the fertilized egg begins to implant into the endometrial lining of the uterus. I wonder: how could this individual be "miscarrying" 22 hours after intercourse, when she won't even be technically pregnant for another 5 days? Lets use that grey matter.

It's not a sign of pregnancy. Taking the morning after pill messes up your hormones and can cause bleeding.

When I have taken the emergency pill, I bleed with 1-5days.

I had taken it a few times so years ago, and it has always happened.... Except when I took it on the 45hour and was already pregnant!!!

no its perfectly normal to bleed after and is NOT a sign you are pregnant or were pregnant. if you are really worried go and speak to chemist, she will address any fears you may still have.
